Bible Truth For Today
DIVINE ELECTION
"Election" is a Biblical doctrine. However, this "doctrine of election" as the term is often used, particularly within Reformed Theology, ties in directly with Calvinism's doctrine of predestination in that God has "elected" or chosen who will be saved (and, as a result, who will NOT be saved).
Issues/Concerns regarding this doctrine:
We at BibleTruthForToday believe that Reformed Theology (Calvinism) is the theology of a religious system that is ultimately contrary to the overall revelation of God in the Bible. Calvinism includes the doctrine of predestination (divine election), and Calvinism is often (although NOT always) closely associated with infant baptism, baptismal salvation, and covenant theology.
